Readose

United States · English and Spanish

The older adult taps Taken. Someone else keeps the schedule.

Readose is a medication reminder for one person and the caregivers around them. It reads and organizes text from the package. It does not decide a dose.

No ads. Reminders and Taken stay free. Not listed in the stores yet.

Two jobs, one circle

The older adult

Opens Today and taps Taken, Snooze, or Skip. Undo is available and puts the quantity back. An invited senior can photograph a package for reading only. They cannot add it to the schedule.

The caregiver

Sets the name as printed, the times, and the course end. A person can be the senior in only one circle and a caregiver in many. Each circle has exactly one senior.

A personal circle is the account holder alone. They can add medications, reminders, and Taken without a paid plan. The paid plan starts when other people are invited.

02

How a dose moves

  1. The package text is checked The name and strength must be confirmed before they enter the schedule. Ambiguous numbers are left blank. Nothing is guessed.
  2. The phone reminds on time A local reminder fires at the scheduled time. iOS uses Time Sensitive notifications. Android uses exact alarms. Readose does not send SMS and does not use Critical Alerts.
  3. Taken is recorded, then shared The tap is saved on the phone first, then synced. A later confirmation does not overwrite an earlier one. Each status change is kept in an audit trail.
03

Missed-dose notices, paid plan only

  1. The older adult gets the local reminder. As-needed doses are never escalated and do not create a slot.

  2. If it is still open, the phone asks the older adult again. A Taken tap at or before this time cancels the step.

  3. Caregivers get a push that a dose has no confirmation yet. The free plan creates none of these jobs.

If the phone stays offline past that window, a caregiver can still be notified. When the phone reconnects, the audit shows the Taken tap and corrects the record. The offline tap is not thrown away.

What stays free

Free, and it stays free

Reminders and Taken

  • Today list across morning, noon, evening, and bedtime
  • Taken, Snooze, Skip, and Undo
  • Add a medication in a personal circle
  • Organize package text, including lookup-only for an invited senior
  • No advertisements
05

Package text, not a conclusion

Only what is printed

A dose, a reason for use, or a generic name is not filled in when the package does not say it. Conflicting lines are left blank for review.

You confirm before saving

The schedule stays closed until the printed name and the strength are each marked correct. A low-confidence line cannot slip through on its own.

Registry wording stays verbatim

When a country registry is enabled, its excerpt is copied with the source address, the retrieval time, and the data version. The app does not rewrite it and does not translate medical text. If a translation is missing, the original stays and the screen says translation unavailable.

A barcode is a code, not directions

A barcode can help match a package. It never supplies the directions. Serial and batch stay on the phone. The server can receive the product code only.

06

What Readose will not do

  • It does not give medical advice, and it is not a substitute for a doctor or pharmacist.
  • It does not recognize a pill by how it looks.
  • It does not check drug interactions.
  • It does not place its own video call. Call opens the phone dialer.
  • It does not map a brand from one country onto another.
  • It does not send SMS, and it does not use iOS Critical Alerts.
  • In an emergency, call 911.

What leaves the phone

Stays on the device

Label photos, raw recognized text, barcode serial numbers, and batch codes. Production logs do not store raw package text or images.

Can be sent

Redacted text lines for organizing, a product code without serial or batch, dose events after a local save, and push tokens for caregivers on the paid plan.

Signup asks for the current consent, privacy notice, and disclaimer. The legal text version in the app is 2026-10-15. A newer legal text requires consent again. The US registry stays off in production until its commercial-use terms are confirmed.

08

What is ready

Phone screens
Onboarding, Today, manual entry, package confirmation, camera entry, reminder check, and the family circle run on local state.
Rules under test
Schedules, daylight saving, escalation, the free and paid split, one senior per circle, and package-text checks are covered by tests.
Not finished
Reading a photo on the device, syncing Taken to a hosted database, a live registry call, and App Store or Play listing. No store button is shown until that listing exists.

Questions

Is this medical advice?

No. Readose reads and organizes information from your packaging. This is not a substitute for a doctor or pharmacist. In an emergency, call 911.

Who is it for?

A caregiver setting a schedule for one older adult in the United States, and that older adult confirming a dose. The interface ships in English and Spanish for the US.

Why is there no price?

The paid amount is not set. The screen says the price will be shown before you subscribe. Inventing a number here would be wrong.

What if the label says “as directed”?

The directions stay blank and are marked for review. The app does not invent a schedule from that phrase. A factory box with no pharmacy directions is not marked as a problem.

What if two lines disagree?

The value is left empty and marked for review. A post-check can only raise that flag. It cannot silently change a dose.

Does a missed dose always alert the family?

Only on the paid plan, and only for a scheduled dose that is still open. As-needed doses and the free plan do not send that push.

Can the same person be in more than one circle?

They can be a caregiver in many circles. They can be the senior in only one. A circle cannot hold a second senior.

Which languages work?

English (US) and Spanish (US) are the shipped interfaces. German, French, Polish, and Russian drafts exist and stay switched off.

Where will the apps be listed?

The intended store ids are com.readose.app on Apple and Google. Listing has not happened. A development build can be installed by the team; it is not a public download.

What clock does the schedule use?

The IANA timezone on the schedule. A missing local time at the spring change moves forward one hour and is marked as adjusted. A repeated fall-back hour fires once, on the earlier instant.

Reminders and Taken stay free.

Family invites, missed-dose pushes, and history export wait for the paid plan. The price appears before subscribe.
